Watershed

Water is the lifeblood of our communities, and at LWA, we’re passionate about keeping it clean and safe. Our focus on watershed management and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) regulations helps communities tackle water pollution head-on. We bring together diverse stakeholders to address pollutants like nutrients, toxics, pesticides, metals, salts, and bacteria in a coordinated, effective way.

Our comprehensive watershed services include:

  • Developing TMDLs for specific pollutants
  • Reviewing water quality standards and data
  • Creating technical reports to support TMDL development
  • Providing guidance on policy and regulatory issues
  • Facilitating communication between stakeholders and regulators
  • Incorporating TMDL requirements into permits
  • Producing Salt and Nutrient Management Plans

But our work doesn’t stop there. We’re involved at every stage of the water protection process. We review and comment on the listing of impaired waters, support both regulators and regulated agencies during TMDL development, and assist with compliance strategies. This might involve setting up watershed monitoring programs, recommending best management practices, or helping with annual reporting.

At LWA, we understand that effective watershed management is about more than just meeting regulations – it’s about preserving our precious water resources for generations to come.
