Mugu Lagoon Coastal Brackish Groundwater Extraction Project
United Water Conservation District (UWCD) is launching a major coastal water demonstration project at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu. LWA, in association with Environmental Science Associates, is assisting UWCD in the Extraction Barrier and Brackish (EBB) Water Treatment Project that will extract brackish groundwater from the southern Oxnard Plain to reduce seawater intrusion in the groundwater basin. Beneficial uses of the extracted water are being evaluated and potentially include delineation treatment to provide a new local source of fresh water.
