Karen has over 30 years of experience in stormwater and watershed management. Karen specializes in the development, implementation, assessment, and reporting associated with stormwater management programs throughout California. She has successfully led and facilitated numerous discussions and groups addressing complex environmental, regulatory, or compliance issues.

Her primary work efforts have focused on facilitating permit renewals, reviewing and commenting on policies and regulatory documents, developing and implementing watershed and stormwater management programs and TMDLs, and conducting assessments to comply with the Trash Amendments. Karen has played an integral role in developing program effectiveness assessment strategies, evaluating stormwater programs, and preparing technical and annual reports.

Karen’s contributions to the stormwater profession were recognized by the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) with its Leadership Award in 2018. Her expertise in stormwater management and program assessment make her a valuable advisor for addressing challenging water quality problems. Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and is a registered Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ).
